The Department of Neurology and the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Yale University seek to hire a full-time adult EMU Director at the rank level of Associate Professor or Professor. Â This person may also be eligible for a joint appointment in Neurosurgery as Co-Director of the Epilepsy Surgery Program. Â The essential duties of the position include:
Supervising all activities in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, including inpatient clinical trials, safety and quality improvement activities
Representing Yale at the National Association of Epilepsy Center meetingsÂ
Mentoring junior faculty and fellows doing research related to epilepsy monitoring and surgery
Teaching residents, fellows, and medical students about all aspects of epilepsy and EEG
Growing the epilepsy surgery program
Seeing epilepsy surgery patients and candidates in the clinic
And for the appropriate candidate:
Assisting in the development of the planned Yale Neuromodulation Center
Expanding research on intracranial EEG and other aspects of epilepsy surgery

Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â The Yale Comprehensive Epilepsy Center is a long-standing level IV center, currently with 15 attending epileptologists, 2 epilepsy neurosurgeons, 2 neuropsychologists, a social worker, dedicated dietitian, a computational neurophysiology lab, 8-bed adult and 3-bed pediatric epilepsy monitoring units, an extensive ICU-EEG monitoring service, outpatient lab including ambulatory EEG and evoked potentials, multiple nurses and research coordinators, and 5 fellows (4 ACGME certified per year, 2 in epilepsy, 2 in neurophysiology).Â Â The surgery program performs all types of epilepsy surgeries (>1000 cases performed) including intracranial EEG (depth and subdural), stereo-EEG (with robotic placement), laser ablation (with intraoperative MRI), vagus nerve stimulation and responsive neurostimulation.Â
