Post-Doctoral Research Associate - Biochemistry, Cellular & Molecular Biology
A post-doctoral position is available in the Das Lab at UT Knoxville for a NSF CAREER funded project. Our lab is interested in understanding signaling pathways that regulate cytokinetic events using the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe as a model system. Cytokinesis is the final step in cell division and involves a series of events that precisely splits a cell into two after mitosis. This project will investigate how in fission yeast signaling pathways crosstalk with each other to organize different cytokinetic events. More details about our research and recent publications are available at our website www.daslabpombe.com. For our research we use yeast genetics, live-cell imaging, protein dynamics, quantitative microscopy and mathematical modeling approaches. Our lab is well equipped with a dedicated 2-D array confocal and a Spinning disc microscopes. In addition, the microscopy core at the university has a Leica SP8 confocal microscope, transmission electron microscope and a TIRF microscope.
