Dr. Emmanuel Mignot's laboratory within the Division of Sleep Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is seeking an Administrative Manager to support and oversee the daily operations of a sleep/narcolepsy research lab dedicated to understanding sleep and neuroimmune disorders such as narcolepsy, paraneoplastic syndromes, Parkinson and Kleine Levin Syndrome. The Mignot laboratory in connection with the Center for Narcolepsy combines basic molecular research with translational and clinical research. The Administrative Manager will work in a dynamic environment to support the management of research grants and budget development and partner with the department's central Research Finance, Clinical Finance and HR groups as well as SHC to carry out the goals and needs of the center and lab. The Administrative Manager will monitor clinical trials recruitment, assess staffing needs and communicate with sponsors. In addition, this position will also be responsible for pre-award tasks and the grant submission process.

Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program.
Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function.
Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function
Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies.
Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences.
Will participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures. Will perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget.
Will direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments. May also supervise staff.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Previous experience running federal and industry sponsored studies
Previous experience working in an academic institution
Experience with grant and contract proposal preparation and submission processes and procedures
Working knowledge of NIH and other federal agencies, foundation regulations and proposal requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
