The Tibetan Language Program (TLP) in the Department of East Asian Languages and Cultures at Columbia University invites applications for a full-time Lecturer in Literary/Classical Tibetan Language, to begin July 1, 2021. This is a one year position with possible renewal for up to two additional years. Primary responsibilities include teaching two to three literary/classical Tibetan courses each semester in consultation with the TLP Director and Department administration. Administrative duties include curriculum development (both individual and collaborative), proctoring Tibetan language placement testing as needed, and assisting with the design and execution of program events. MA required; PhD preferred. High value is placed on ability to work closely with colleagues in the program. Review of applications begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
