Position Description: The Smart Manufacturing (SM) Platform is one of four strategic pillars of CESMII's integrated strategy for democratizing and accelerating the adoption of Smart Manufacturing by small, medium and large manufacturers. The platform will enable seamless, vendor agnostic inter-operability of manufacturing centric technologies including sensing, control, modeling and analytics using core capabilities of data ingestion, data contextualization, data management, workflow-based integration and a marketplace of CESMII approved apps. A collaborative development approach will be undertaken in order to develop the platform with participation from subject matter experts representing manufacturers, technology providers, systems integrators and the academia. This role is responsible for working with those subject matter experts to enable them to develop for, and on, the SM Platform.
The candidate will serve as a key point of contact for CESMII members that have a dependency on the platform, providing guidance on architecture and implementation, developing tools, code samples and documentation to accelerate projects teams, advising on best practices for connectivity, information modeling, data access, and orchestration of multiple components. They will also work as a DevOps resource for CESMII and its members, maintaining Cloud infrastructure and components, including building out capabilities for technical communication, tracking issues, gathering feedback or requirements, and sharing of open-source components or reference patterns. The candidate will also assist in driving alignment between the platform and the CESMII technology roadmap by helping identify platform capability development focus areas and assisting in creating project portfolios to address technology gaps. The candidate will also assist in the assessment of innovative emerging technologies related to Smart Manufacturing to guide CESMII's current and future efforts.
