Under direct supervision, responds to phone calls received to the Contact Center; registers patient demographic and insurance information; schedules patient appointments; responds with information, assistance, or transfers the call to appropriate person or department; researches and documents patient information to facilitate appointment scheduling. The Patient Scheduler I is expected to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI), quality metrics, and to uphold a culture of continuous improvement. Utilize Epic to communicate with clinical areas and physicians regarding patient requests or needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Schedules patient appointments; pre-registers patients; obtains patient demographic and insurance information; updates scheduling system; reviews patient Epic records for patient scheduling.
Responds to caller general information requests and/or inquiries and patient messages via MyChart and SLUCare email; refers callers to most qualified areas and transfers callers to clinical departments.
Utilize Epic to communicate with clinical areas and physicians regarding patient requests or needs.
Assists marketing department with event registration, coordination, and reporting.
Performs other duties as assigned.
High school diploma; customer service experience and knowledge of medical terminology preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
