Office Manager, Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning
The George Mason University, Stearns Center for Teaching and Learning is currently seeking a part-time Office Manager. About the Position:
The Stearns Center is very active with multiple teams, projects and events that serve faculty across the university. This position reports to the team's Operations Manager and serves a team of approximately 12 administrative faculty and classified staff.
Fiscal management, including budget systems purchasing (according to university guidelines), budget reconciliation, and travel authorizations and reimbursements;
General office management, including daily client communication, oversight of office supplies and space, key control and equipment inventory, and telecom and facilities work orders;
HR liaison duties, including support for candidate searches and staff on-boarding;
Providing high-quality general administrative support to the Stearns Center;
Working in collaboration with other administrative staff, including the Operations Manager and Events Manager;
Cross-train responsibilities to ensure effective office continuity at all times;
Supervision of part-time staff, as needed.
Ability to work as part of a team, but also act independently;
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced office environment;
Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Outlook and Word;
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with large personnel and office management systems, such as the ones Mason uses like including Banner and MicroStrategy;
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
