The Department of Medicine at OHSU is comprised of a diverse group of faculty, staff, clinicians, educators, and learners. Our ten divisions are involved in education, research and patient care. We are located in various facilities at OHSU and the Portland Veterans Administration Medical Center. We currently have 215 clinical faculty, 45 research faculty, more than 300 volunteer faculty, over 200 housestaff (residents, clinical and research fellows) and numerous staff.
The Finance Administrator in the Department of Medicine (DoM), is a finance leader within the Department and will significantly contribute to the vast financial matters pertaining to the DoM, including the various divisions and units comprising the largest department in the School of Medicine (SoM). This position reports directly to the Vice Chair of Administration.
The Finance Administrator supports the department by providing fiscal leadership via budgeting, planning, strategy, analysis, reporting and oversight of financial activities. The position works collaboratively with various constituents at the University, including but not limited to, DoM Division Managers, School of Medicine Dean's Office, Corporate Financial Services, OHSU Foundation and Health Care Financial Services. Responsible for supporting data-driven decision making, reporting/projections for business/administrative activities and conducting additional analysis as assigned. Explores fiscal viability of new and existing initiatives using internal and external sources to provide a basis for creating sustainable operational models. Represents the DoM in various OHSU finance groups and task forces.
Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and7 years of applicable experience
Leadership experience in financial management
Experience in an academic environment or a large, complex diverse organization with an emphasis on financial management, business development, and strategic planning.
In depth knowledge of financial planning, accounting, and budgeting.
Experience creating financial models and forecasting
Ability to analyze and implement necessary internal financial controls.
Advanced spreadsheet skills including functions and pivot tables
5+ years of leadershipexperience in financial management
Experience working with Oracle and COGNOS applications
