The PAS Specialist provides administrative support to the Interventional Radiology (IR) clinic and related scheduling functions, as well as providing occasional back-up coverage for authorizations. This position gathers and records required information about IR patient; provides specific customer services which include screening for financial eligibility, confirming health insurance coverage and the individuals obligations; scheduling appointments and assisting patients in the office/ clinic setting.
This position is directly involved with scheduling and obtaining authorizations for ambulatory consultation and follow-up visits, diagnostic procedures (radiology, lab, etc.), as well as ambulatory minimally invasive procedures. The PAS Specialist will utilize hospital system software, i.e. Epic Radiant, etc.
This is a temporary, part time, non-benefit eligible position. Position will be a work from home position, day shift, with possible on site clinic coverage. It is anticipated that the position will be scheduled for approximately 16 hours per week; scheduled days and hours are negotiable.
Six months of work experience in a medical office setting, including high volume direct patientcontact OR one year of work experience in a high volume direct public contact position
Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal
OHSU network computer applications: Windows, MS office applications, EPIC
Working knowledge of medical terminology
Managed care experience
Muti-line telephone experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking skills
