Systems Administrator - Department of Computer Science, School of Engineering - (21001249)
The CS and ECE systems department provides full technical support for the teaching and research activities of the Computer Science and Electrical/Computer Engineering departments.
Provide technical support for Microsoft Windows in several different environments including virtualized systems, servers, workstations, and laptops. Locally and remotely provision and deploy systems in an unattended manner using a combination of vendor provided tools, third party software and custom scripts. Automate repetitive systems administration tasks such as user account management and network configuration. Working as part of a team, candidate also serves as first line of support for faculty, staff, and students.
Position requires 1-3 years of systems administration experience using Microsoft Windows in a large heterogeneous environment.
In addition, the candidate must have prior experience managing Active Directory and other windows services.
The candidate is also expected to provide desktop support for routine issues such as connecting to email services, remote drives, printing, and software installations.
Preferred qualifications include knowledge of remote deployment methods including WDS and MDT.
In addition, the candidate would have prior experience using scripting languages like Powershell or VB Script.
Experience with VMWare would be a plus.
Special Work Schedule Requirements: Occasional after hours support in case of system failure/emergency.
