Research will focus on the regulation of lipid metabolism in plants and algae. We are particularly interested in the remodeling of the photosynthetic membrane lipid composition in response to adverse conditions and determining the role of specific lipids in maintaining photosynthetic function. We apply genetic, molecular, biochemical and cell biological approaches to Arabidopsis thaliana and Chlamydomonas reinhardtii as plant and microalgal model organisms, respectively.
