We are seeking Postdoctoral Research Associates for NIH R01-funded projects in epigenetics and molecular endocrinology and molecular toxicology, with an interest in advanced training using innovative single cell-based next generation sequencing and epigenomic remodeling technologies to study the dysregulation of gene expression and chromatin states in mouse models of liver disease. We are especially interested in candidates with strong prior experience in molecular biology and/or computational biology, with specific interest in areas such as genomics, epigenetics, NGS technologies, liver disease, and/or mouse models of disease.
The research will draw from a broad spectrum of advanced techniques in epigenetics, including in vivo epigenetic reprogramming and NGS technologies, and will include opportunities for training in bioinformatics data analysis. In one project, we are studying the role of long non-coding RNAs in hormonal regulation of chromatin states controlling sex-biased gene expression in mouse models of liver disease; and in a second project we are investigating the persistent disruptive actions of environmental chemicals that activate transcription factors from the nuclear receptor (NR) superfamily, which can induce developmental and adult disease-associated toxicities. The research will be tailored to meet the individual qualifications and interests of the Postdoctoral Research Associate, who will play a direct role in designing as well as conducting independent research.

A PhD or equivalent degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics/Computational Biology or a related field in life sciences is preferred.
The ability to initiate, conduct, evaluate and report independent research studies is essential.
Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English are also required.
