The Associate Director for Peer Leadership and Student Well-being Programs leads UofSC's nationally recognized Changing Carolina Peer Leader program and acts as an expert guide to University Health Services' student prevention programming model. Under the general supervision of the Director of Wellness, Prevention and Advocacy Services, the purpose of this position is to oversee the coordination, development, and implementation of programs and services and evaluate outcomes of general wellness and peer-led educational programing, primary prevention training and educational activities, including but not limited to the areas of physical activity, balanced eating, tobacco cessation, and sexual health. Manages the peer health educator program, Changing Carolina Peer Leaders (CCPL), including leading prevention coordinators who advise specific special interest groups within the larger peer educator program. Serves as the lead instructor for the HPEB 301 academic course for incoming peer leaders. Supervises the Program Coordinator for Sexual Health to develop a positive, inclusive sexual health education program. Lead Healthy Campus Initiatives efforts to design and deliver the most effective, nimble, and appropriate student prevention program content and modalities, including integration into academic environments. Collaborates with departmental colleagues and campus partners to plan, implement, and evaluate theory- and evidence-informed prevention strategies. Utilizing evidence-based research develops and implements educational programs and services designed to promote behavior change as related to these issues. Trains, directs, and supervises others performing various tasks associated with the delivery of programs and services, including faculty/staff, students, graduate assistants/interns, and peer educators. Services include, but are not limited to resources and referral, advising, events planning and coordination, and events co-sponsored with other faculty/staff organizations, student organizations and other internal and external stakeholders. Due to nature of the position, schedule is subject to additional hours, occasional evenings or weekends depending on programming.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 3 years related experience, or bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience.
