The Francis I. Proctor Foundation at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and the Department of Ophthalmology seek a highly qualified faculty member to support our commitment to advancing epidemiological research in vision. The Proctor Foundation’s research focuses on infectious and inflammatory diseases of the eye. Faculty perform innovative clinical trials and methodological research in the fields of global health and ophthalmology. The faculty member will be expected to play an important role in both their own research and research collaborative throughout Proctor. Additionally, the faculty member will join Proctor’s commitment to the broader Department of Ophthalmology in advising department faculty around questions of research design and statistical analysis. Area of concentration should be within current goals and interests of Proctor, and include global health, cluster-randomized trials, Implementation Science, and other innovative methodological areas, focusing on eye disease and related topics. We anticipate hiring at the level of Assistant Professor level with faculty step and salary commensurate with the candidate’s experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidate must hold a PhD degree in epidemiology, biostatistics or equivalent, and have an exceptional publication record and a history of acquiring NIH funding.
