The Cardiology Division at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking a Specialist to conduct research in the area of Cardiology, atrial fibrillation in particular, and to design research studies, write protocols, analyze data, and prepare presentations. This position will also assist in the writing of portions of grants and the gathering of preliminary data. Further, this role will ensure the proper collection of specialized measurements such as 12-lead ECG, signal averaged ECG, ECG telemetry, and echocardiography.
Specialists appointed at the junior rank must possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) at least four years of relevant research experience.
Specialists appointed at the Full rank must possess a terminal degree (or equivalent degree) or ten or more years of experience in the relevant specialization.
2 years (or more) experience in UCSF compliance with protocols, institutional policies and best practices
Ability to design research studies, write protocols and write/manage study operations manuals
IRB electronic submission/review systems (IRES/IRIS)
Electronic Medical Records (Citrix, EPIC)
Statistical analyses software (SPSS, Stata or similar)
Working knowledge and proficiency in REDCap, Qualtrics, Endnote, Graffle, GitHub
Working knowledge of databases, data cleaning and data analyses
Ability to utilize existing algorithms, techniques, and statistical methodologies to conduct moderately complex data analysis
Ability to manage scientific process for review of grant application to the Naify AF Center and Davis Sudden Death Center
Team player with interpersonal skills in order to work with both technical and non- technical personnel at various levels in the organization
Self-motivated, able to learn quickly, meet deadlines and demonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
