Reporting to the Director of Enterprise Services, the Assistant Director of Enterprise Services has responsibility for planning, implementing and administration of Workday ERP/SIS and other information systems, as well as supporting the business processes for university departments and offices using university-supported software, applications, and databases. Other responsibilities include development of professional relationships and continued collaboration with a wide range of constituencies including outside vendors, faculty, students, administrators, and staff. This position supervises a professional staff, reports to the Director of Enterprise Services, and works closely with other members of the Technology Services Department.
Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Assists the Director of Enterprise Services as system administrator for the university’s enterprise information systems and assures adequate security and backup of systems and databases.
Leads projects that develop, implement, and optimize information systems that support and enhance operational functions within university departments and business units.
Supports business units in tier 3 back-end troubleshooting, testing, business process/workflow, requirements gathering, data extraction/transformation, reporting, data governance, training, security configuration, and integration design and development.
Trains and supervises subordinates and student assistants to help with the day-to-day operation of campus technology.
Maintains appropriate documentation.
Seeks feedback from users, then implements and/or recommends solutions and standards to meet those needs.
Serves on committees and participates in meetings as directed.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Workday HCM/Finance/Student experience preferred
3 - 5 years of experience in administrative computing system or ERP (enterprise resource planning) system or SIS (student information system) required
System administration or programming background preferred
Higher Education background preferred
Demonstrated skill in leading IT projects
Reporting knowledge and experience, especially with SSRS

The Assistant Director is expected to have the outstanding interpersonal communication and leadership skills necessary to maintain and build such relationships
The finalist will be required to successfully pass a background check.
Occasional travel to training, seminars or conferences expected.
Provides off-hours, on-call support as needed.
Position may be part-time or full-time remote with occasional visits to campus.
Position is assigned an office within the IT office suite, unless remote.
