Sarah Lawrence College invites applications for a part-time faculty instructor in Japanese literature and culture for Fall 2021. Responsibilities include teaching one undergraduate course in the fall semester in English translation, either seminar-style with individual biweekly conference meetings with students or lecture-style with small group conference meetings with students. The focus of the course is open to premodern and/or modern Japanese literature, theater, film, or other arts or media.
Candidates must have a PhD or ABD in Japanese literature or other discipline with a focus in Japanese studies. Interested applicants should include a cover letter, CV, teaching statement, two letters of recommendation and summary of teaching evaluations if available.
Review of applications will begin June 1 and continue until the positions are filled.
