Visiting Assistant Professor in Cultural Anthropology

Detailed Description: The Department of Anthropology at the University of San Diego invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position to begin in August 2021. We seek a broadly-trained Cultural Anthropologist who will participate in undergraduate teaching.
The candidate will teach three classes per semester, including Introduction to Cultural Anthropology, Ethnographic Field Methods, and upper division undergraduate courses in their area of specialty. Preference will be given to candidates with the ability to teach a broad range of courses. We seek applicants with an active program of field research that could be used to engage undergraduate students. Applicants must have teaching experience and be able to teach in-person, remote, and hybrid introductory courses. Teaching modality will be dependent on California guidelines and University policies. The successful candidate must hold a PhD at the time of appointment.
