East Carolina University seeks to fill a nine-month fixed-term appointment in the Department of Kinesiology within the College of Health and Human Performance. The intended start date for the successful candidate is August 2021.
The department is seeking an individual with expertise or the ability to teach exercise physiology related courses. The candidate will have undergraduate and graduate teaching opportunities in the broad realm of exercise physiology with possible classes focusing on such as exercise evaluation and prescription, EKG Interpretation, strength training, stress testing or exercise testing, and clinical populations. The candidate will have the opportunity to engage in undergraduate and graduate research projects within the ECU Human Performance Laboratory and the Department of Kinesiology and its partners. The department seeks to attract a culturally and academically diverse faculty of the highest caliber skilled in the scholarship of research, teaching, leadership, and the application of knowledge.

The Department of Kinesiology is one of six academic units in the College of Health and Human Performance offering seven degree programs: BS in Exercise Physiology, BS in Health Fitness Specialist, BS in Physical Education, BS in Sports Studies, MAEd in Physical Education, MS in Kinesiology and a PhD in Bioenergetics and Exercise Science, with near 1300 majors and over 35 full time faculty. Our internationally known faculty are collaborative, interdisciplinary, and successful in both extramural funded research and innovative teaching.
