Berkeley Journalism is seeking a part-time instructor to teach the following course during the Fall 2021 semester: J219 Sound Design (Mini) — 10% time appointment (2 teaching hrs/week)
This 6-week mini course teaches students to mix and sound design documentary projects in film and audio. The class will also go over how to use sound design to enhance storytelling, and how to approach documentary-making with sound design in mind. In addition to lessons, there will be small projects to help students apply skills learned in class. Platforms used are Adobe Premiere editing and Adobe Audition for audio.
This teaching position is expected to deliver the specified hours of course delivery per week for Fall 2021. In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.
