Supports faculty and students with career exploration, internships, job shadow experiences, presentations, and facilitation of resources available for career development.
Serves on various community and institutional committees to build partnerships across the university and among comparable universities to build knowledge base.
Assists in the process of collecting and tracking data for office assessment purposes. Utilizes data to assist in the creation of office objectives and goals to meet the needs of the student population.
Works through issues with a variety of stakeholders: students, employers, alumni, and faculty. Identifies and capitalizes on connections between groups of stakeholders and leverage those connections in unique ways through events and interactions.
May provide guidance and delegate administrative tasks to other career services staff.
May make process recommendations for improved operational efficiency.
Specific department responsibilities:
The Career Coach provides specialized career development education and support to all O'Neill students by cultivating meaningful connections with alumni and employers through targeted career programs and resources for assigned career community.
Through teamwork, programming, and individual and group student coaching, the Career Coach expands student awareness of, and helps them prepare for, the many functional roles, employer organizations, and industries that can align with the student's unique strengths and interests. This holistic approach introduces students to a variety of industry experts within a career community, to explore how classroom knowledge and skills are relevant to and apply to the needs of the professional community.
The primary liaison for students in the assigned career community and will engage with appropriate faculty, departments, and offices within The O'Neill School.
Seeks to build and maintain employer relationships with target employers for students within the career community.
Coordinates with the career services staff and other Career Coaches to ensure coordination of efforts and leverage resources.
Bachelor's degree in business or a related field.
Master's degree in a related field.
Two years of experience in career consulting or a related field.
Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
