Internal Number: 2870073  Health Sciences Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor - Liver Transplant - Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology The University of California, Davis, School of Medicine, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology is recruiting for the Liver Transplant Program at the Assistant/Associate/Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical series at up to 100% effort. This position will serve as the Medical Director. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a diverse group of surgeons, physicians, and nurse coordinators to initiate and grow the Liver Transplant Program. UC Davis Health and The UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA is the only provider of tertiary care to a 65,000-square-mile area that includes 33 counties and 6 million residents across Northern and Central California. Currently there are no liver transplant centers in this area and UC Davis Health is committed to establishing a premier liver transplant program. The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology currently includes 4 hepatologists with active clinical and research programs. Transplant Hepatology Faculty responsibilities include direct inpatient and outpatient clinical care; teaching medical students, residents, and fellows; university/public service; and regular attendance at scheduled meetings and CME activities. Clinical efforts include all aspects of Transplant Hepatology, including pre-transplant candidate evaluation, inpatient consultation, and post-transplant outpatient care. The successful candidate will assist in the development of the Liver Transplant Program, including obtaining UNOS certification, expand outreach of the Hepatology practice, and develop clinical care pathways. Candidate must possess an MD degree or equivalent and be board-eligible/certified in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology or be eligible to serve as the Primary Liver Transplant Physician according to UNOS policies.
