Departmental Overview

The California Social Work Education Center (CalSWEC) is a partnership for education, student support, training, evaluation, and research at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Social Welfare. CalSWEC is a consortium of the state's 22 accredited social work graduate schools, all 58 county departments of social service and local mental health departments, the California Department of Social Services (CDSS), the California Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, the County Welfare Directors Association (CWDA), the County Behavioral Health Directors Association (CBHDA), Regional Training Academies, and foundations. It is the nation's largest coalition of its kind, working together to provide professional education, student support, in-service training, and workforce evaluation research-all directed toward developing effective, culturally competent public service delivery to the people of California. This position will be hired at 60% to 100% based on department needs at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Formulates and defines limited to moderately complex systems scope and objectives.
• Analyzes business processes and problems to understand and validate functional business requirements to meet end-user needs in the CalSWEC Student Information System, using Visualforce forms, Google sheets, and Data Connector.
• Using Salesforce compliance monitoring strategies, documents and reports on functional business requirements and disruptions.
• Identifies, evaluates, and develops limited to moderately complex systems and procedures.
• Executes Title IV-E database policy integration and acceptance testing, as assigned.
• Assists with project plan development and end user documentation for maintenance of the CalSWEC Student Information System database.
• Gathers and analyzes data to prepare business process and procedural documentation.
• Assists with implementation of changes in development, maintenance, system standards and in the creation of specifications.
• Helps develop basic user interface designs. Monitors, documents, and communicates interface updates, as assigned.
• Provides technical support for the maintenance of the CalSWEC Student Information System database to CalSWEC Title IV-E Program schools and students on ongoing basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work with others from diverse backgrounds.
• Intermediate knowledge of and/or ability to learn related areas of IT & cloud-based database management systems including Salesforce, Data Connector, Visualforce, Google Sheets.
• Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team.
• Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrates problem-solving skills.
• General knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
• Demonstrated testing and test planning skills.
• Applying and/or ability to learn CalSWEC Title IV-E program database policy and data compliance standards, able to review and test logic syntax and quasi-code via Salesforce automations and triggers, as assigned.
• Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.
• Interpersonal and communications skills to work with both technical and non-technical personnel at CalSWEC Title IV-E Program schools.

Education

• Bachelors degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge relating to software design.
• Skills associated with analysis of processes and issues of moderate scope, information flow and architecture.

Salary & Benefits

This position is a non-exempt, bi-weekly paid position. Hourly pay for this role is commensurate with experience within the range of $37.07 - $39.46. For information on the comprehensive benefits package offered by the University visit:

Other Information

• This is a one year, 60% part-time, 24-hours per week, Contract (temporary) appointment, eligible for full UC benefits.
