Job Description:

Under general direction is responsible for facilitating the operation and management of the Building Automation System.

Essential Functions:

Provide assistance in the development and maintenance of software solutions and user interface for the Building Automation System. Coordinate with facilities departments at each campus relative to BAS services and support. Work closely with technical trades, engineers, and information technology personnel to design, implement, and maintain the BAS. Develop solutions for third party integration with the campus Building Automation System.

Required Qualifications: The following qualifications are required to perform the essential functions of this position, or the individual must be able to demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed (with or without reasonable accommodation) using other qualifications not listed below.

Education: Minimum 2-year course work in math, computer science or engineering. Successful completion of training program for major building automation system manufacturer

Experience: Minimum 3 years experience working in the building automation system industry or Minimum 5 years experience working in the commercial HVAC industry.

Duties:

• Monitor and operate existing building automation systems
• Coordinate with Facilities Staff issues and/concerns with BAS
• Create and/or modify sequences of operations for HVAC
• Create and/or modify user interfaces to the BAS
• Create and/or modify alarm notifications
• Accompany HVAC technicians and electricians onsite to facilitate BAS installations or integrations
• Setup, configure, integrate, and program controls for HVAC and lighting
• Setup, configure, and integrate networked electric meters

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• DDC and Pneumatic controls
• Graphics development
• BACNet/Modbus integrations
• Networking and troubleshooting
• Ability to effectively communicate automation systems and networking issues to Facilities Staff

Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are preferred:

• General HVAC sequence of operation
• Networking principles
• Electro-mechanical theory
• Graphical software and interfaces
• Ability to write HTML and javascript code

Preferred Education: The following qualifications are preferred:

• Bachelors Degree in math, computer science, environmental science/sustainability, or engineering technology.
• Successful completion of training program for Andover Systems (Schneider) or EcoStruxure BAS software

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, 40 hour a week position, working Monday-Friday. Actual schedule to be discussed with candidate selected for position. Holiday, weekend and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to needs of the organization or business unit.
