MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience:

• Associate degree or certificate of completion in a related engineering or related scientific discipline, or three years of equivalent work experience or combination of education and relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Comprehensive understanding of scientific principles.
• Basic understanding of protein chemistry, molecular biology and protein engineering.
• Demonstrated laboratory skills in molecular biology, protein purification and characterization.
• Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to complete detailed work accurately.
• Ability to independently setup, oversee and manage instrumentation and laboratory equipment.
• Excellent team working skills, demonstrated in collaboration with senior scientists and scientific staff.
• Experience in reviewing research proposals, evaluating laboratory capabilities, and making scientific recommendations.
• Demonstrated ability to establish, communicate, and enforce compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and train a diverse work staff.
• Ability to work under deadlines according to general guidelines.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelors' degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, immunology, molecular biology, or related field, and a minimum of five years of work experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industry or PhD in a related field.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

• Frequently grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
• Occasionally stand/walk, sit, twist/bend/stoop/squat, grasp forcefully.
• Rarely kneel/crawl, climb (ladders, scaffolds, or other), reach/work above shoulders, use a telephone, writing by hand, sort/file paperwork or parts, operate foot and/or hand controls, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh >40 pounds.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
