Chemical Safety Coordinator

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Research and receiving work lead direction from the College of Science (CoS), Chemical Safety Officer, the Chemical Safety Coordinator works independently under general supervision to achieve specified outcomes. This position provides support to the hazardous waste collection operations for the College of Science. The Chemical Safety Coordinator is responsible for aiding in the preparation, maintenance, distribution, storage/inventory, and quality assurance of chemicals, chemical reagents, chemical solutions and related materials for the biology laboratories. Will support the College Safety Officer in various State and Federal inspections to ensure the College remains in compliance with current safety regulations. The incumbent is an active member of the CoS Emergency Safety Team and will assist the Safety Team in the event of an emergency. Supports the implementation of College Safety Programs and gas cylinder inventory management.
