Established in 1986 with the first classes held in 1987, St. Charles Community College is a public, comprehensive two-year community college with associate degrees and certificate programs in the arts, business, sciences and career-technical fields. SCC provides workforce training and community-based personal and professional development as well as cultural, recreational and entertainment opportunities.

Full-Time Faculty Benefits
St. Charles Community College offers a wide variety of benefits for full-time faculty. Below is an overview of the benefits that are offered. For more detailed information about benefits, please contact a representative in the Human Resources Department at 636-922-8421.

Employer Credit is how the College shares the cost of your benefits. The coverage level you select on your medical coverage will determine the Employer Credit amount for which you qualify. This amount can then be applied toward your benefits.
Cigna (Open Access Plus) – Eligible the first of the month following 45 days of full-time employment.

CIGNA Healthcare (Dental PPO, CORE Network) – Eligible the first of the month following 45 days of full-time employment.
EyeMed (Insight) - Eligible the first of the month following 45 days of full-time employment.
The college participates in the Public School Retirement System of Missouri (PSRS). Eligible employees, upon hire or when hours worked reach eligibility levels, participate in PSRS. Contribution amount, effective July 2011, is 14.5% plus a College match of 14.5%. Visit www.psrs-peers.org for additional information.
Coverage begins on the first calendar day following 90 days of employment in an eligible class. Elimination periods are: 60, 90 and 180 days. The college contributes up to $100 towards the annual premium. The remainder of the cost will be covered by the employee.
Full-time faculty will accrue nine sick days over the course of the academic year.
Summer Sick Time Accrual: One additional day is accrued for teaching during June and/or July, with a maximum additional accrual of two days.
Holidays & Personal Days
The college recognizes 10 paid holidays with one floating day and the weekdays which fall between observed Christmas and New Year’s holidays.
Three personal days per fiscal year are available to current full-time employees on July 1.
The college may grant sabbatical leave to faculty members after 12 continuous semesters, not including summers. Sabbatical leaves are recommended on a competitive basis by a Sabbatical Committee.
